This sequel picks up only moments from where the first book, It Began, left off. The story is fine, with the post-apocalyptic daily life of ordinary people being thoroughly and imaginatively explored.

MaxLockwoodAuthorThe author, Max Lockwood, gets inside the mind and heart of heroine Clara in a remarkable way, and long passages of introspection are fascinating rather than boring. This second book, like its predecessor, ends on a cliffhanger, so be prepared to move on to book three to have your questions answered.

Max Lockwood is a good writer and knows how to keep us guessing, compelled to keep reading. There is no offensive language or explicit sexual encounter, but there is allusion to extramarital sex. The author specifies that this novel is intended for adult audiences and portrays adult characters.

Book 2 of the Zero Power Series, Trying to Survive, is available on Amazon.
